All-Fandom
All-Stars: Bliss Stage
You wanna play? Here are the rules.
1. 3 characters, no more, no less. One Pilot,
one Anchor, and one Supporting Cast.
2. All media allowed. Comics, games, anime, movies, literature, whatever.
However... I am somewhat biased AGAINST taking characters from giant-robot
stories. This is more fun with fish-out-of-water.
3. Characters must be reasonably appropriate:
-- normal turn-of-21st-century teenagers or younger
-- more or less ordinary human beings (or if unusual, in such a way that it
needn't be significant to their role in a Bliss Stage story)
-- capable of being interesting and workable characters uprooted from their
source canon and with minimal ability to reference it
4. Post your slate somewhere we can see it - on your journal, in your webspace,
wherever, and link me to it.
5. Include for each character
-- Name
-- Bliss Stage role (including types for pilots and anchors)
-- source
-- a brief description of the character as you see them, making a case for why
they would be interesting for this hypothetical game
-- Age (and if relevant, what point in their personal canon you are taking
them from)
6. Optionally, you may make a nomination of an Authority Figure. We'll pick
from all the nominees once I have enough entries to be entertaining.
7. IF you enter a slate, repost these rules on your journal or in another venue
so the disease can spread.
All slates of characters submitted so far (that I know of) will be added below so that you can enjoy them!
Pilot: Innocent Sweetheart Nogizaka Mika, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu.

Mika is a devious, smart, and troublemaking little devil-girl, who talks a very big game but is still innocent enough to be scandalized by ACTUAL ecchi stuff. Even though she has a very dirty mind and is a constant font of sekuhara for others. Shefs going to be a HUGE handful for anyone unfortunate enough to be her Anchor. And probably everyone else, too.
Age 14. And with no clue just how serious things are about to get.
Anchor: Compassionate Anchor Tohno Akiha, Tsukihime/Melty Blood

Beneath the surface of a proper, quiet, serious girl lies a tiger. Harsh but deeply devoted, she rarely lets her feelings show – perhaps because shefs afraid of what might happen. She lets few people understand that the Akiha they know is a false front, hiding a scared little girl who desperately needs love.
Age 16. And lonely as all get out.
Supporting Cast: Militia leader Alexander gXanderh Harris, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Fuckup made good. That describes Xander in a
nutshell. Despite his self-doubts and his chronic difficulties in relating to
the opposite sex, hefs – when it comes down to it – brave and resourceful. And
with the critical ability to take charge in a crisis.
Outside a crisis, though, hefs still a huge nerd. And completely vulnerable to a pretty face.
Age 17. And feeling the Bliss creeping up on him.
AF Nominee: Midarezaki Kyouka-sama, Authority Figure (that's Adorable Goddess to you, worm!), Kyouran Kazoku Nikki.

Once worshipped as a goddess by an underground civilization, she ran away to
hide out as a human. Thanks to her ability to inhabit multiple bodies, she has
thus far escaped the Bliss, but is determined to defeat these alien pests so
she can get back to being properly adored by her hapless husband and the rest
of humanity.
Tyrannical, petty, jealous, and seemingly getting most of her ideas about the
world from afternoon television and manga, she is none the less devoted to her
adopted family in the Resistance. After all, otherwise she would definitely
have destroyed them by now, right?
Age: Youfd seriously ask a lady her AGE?
Pilot: Eager Young Soldier Gwendoyln, Odin Sphere

Age: 14
Gwendoyln isn't really sure who she is as a person, what she
believes or what she wants in life, but she knows one thing, and that's
how to fight. Gwendoyln is capable of great compassion and love, and perhaps
her relationships with people is what's going to show her there's something
more to life then fighting. Gwendoyln inwardly is insecure
and desperately seeks approval from people.
Anchor: Driven Anchor Bernkastel, Umineko no Naku Kori Ni

Age: 15
Bernkastel is an unemotional girl who always keep her eye on the goal, and as
such, finds herself best suited as an anchor because she believes she will not
let her pilot die. Bernkastel knows exactly what she wants, and exactly how to
get it, although she comes off as detached to other people. Bernkastel loves
tea and playing games.
Supporting Cast:
Nurse Mariya, Maria Holic
Age: 16
Mariya is a cross dressing male, but male none the less. While he
often trying to show off his 'feminine' charms, or
acting condescending, deep down he strongly cares about his patients
and believes it's his duty to protect them. He'll also offer unsolicitated
advice when it's least wanted.
AF Nominee: Authority Figure Xerxes Break, Pandora Hearts
All this noble save the world thought is nice, but he has only one goal,
revenge. With the alien attack, he lost the family he loved and worked for, and
plans to make them play for it, via any means possible. Those teenager pilots
are merely tools. Long as they still take his orders, he can hide under the
mask of being a clown. No one needs to know how deadly smart he is, or how he
manages to stay awake. However, what's keep him alive is sapping his health,
and he knows he has to beat the clock if he's going to get his revenge.
Pilot: Rising
Hero Haruhi Fujioka,

Honest without realizing how honest she is, kind without realizing how kind she
is, oblivious to how much she is loved and cherished (for many different values
of loved), Haruhi (no, not THAT Haruhi) she was the heart of the Host Club and
would likewise be the heroic heart of a Bliss Stage game.
("I'm just doing what any decent person would do," Haruhi said.
Derek blinked. "Do you know how rare decent people are, post-Bliss?")
Age: 16. Taking her from her first appearance.
Anchor:
Comforting (Driven?) Anchor Ryouga
Hibiki, Ranma 1/2

Always more than willing to help his unrequited love (in Akane)... and more
than willing to bury his misgivings about his rival (in Ranma) if he feels or
his love convinces him that it's in her best interest. Always there with a
comforting word, with training, with re-assurances, Ryoga will sacrifice all of
himself for his love... if you can't stop him from doing so.
And don't get him mad. Ever.
("I... I can't do it!" Sara wailed. "My... my rapier can't
deflect it, I... I can't..."
Privately, Ryouga thought, FUCK Keenan and FUCK the Witty Rapier, but only for
a second. He sighed, and with a crank of a dial, reinforced the signal.
"You can do it, Sara," he said, only a little sadly. "I l... Keenan
loves you, and I trust you.")
Age: Not given, but likely 15-16. From the beginning of his story arc.
Supporting Cast:
Survivor Hanako Ikezawa, Katawa
Shoujo

Horribly burned in an alien attack (Noxious Smokes and Fiery Rays, doncha know)
that took out what family she had left - an attack that, perversely, she blames
herself for - poor Hanako has managed to convince herself that she is an ugly
person and a victim of circumstance, that no one would ever love her, and so
she quietly cooks, cleans, and sorts through files, her head held low.
She is mistaken, of course. She is beautiful, and kind, and good, and the burns
on her face are nowhere near as ugly as the rest of the world, let alone the
aliens. If you could bring her out of her shell, then any kindness you could
show her - kindness she needs - would reward you a thousandfold.
Age: High School age, and apparently a sophomore in the Japanese system. 15-16
is my guess. Prior to meeting Hisao.
AF Nominee: Alexander Luthor, Justice League (Unlimited)
The aliens... interrupted his business, to be
sure, but he wasn't exactly SURPRISED by the invasion, just... by the tactics
involved. Lex was always a believer in the power of the human spirit, and
rather suspicious of anything Other. He's broadminded enough when it comes to
non-Americans - he is, after all, originally of African decent (at least the
JL/U version), but he has ISSUES with things not Human. Not to mention a Crazy
Prepared paranoid streak. When the Bliss hit, his reaction was "Ah, attack
through fatigue and/or dreams. Solution; my stasis/rejeuvenation chamber."
When he had an alien brain, his reaction, likewise, was "Perhaps my dream
scanning equipment would work well with this." It's good to be the CEO.
Age: Middle aged. Prior to meeting Superman, as he doesn't exist in this
setting.
Pilot: Carefree Hedonist Charlie Dalton, Dead Poets Society
Outspoken and outgoing, Charlie's love of
life is shown in his boundless energy and wit. Although he can be brash and
impulsive at times, he's nevertheless unflinchingly dedicated to his friends
and his principles. He also has a bit of a love for poetry (and, admittedly,
for wooing women with it).
Age: 16 (I don't think it was ever mentioned in the movie,
but I figure he's somewhere in the 15-17 range)
Anchor: Kind
(Tempestuous?) Anchor Minori Kushieda,
Toradora!

Minori is somehow energetic, cheerful, athletic enough for a couple people.
She's also good at seeing people for who they really are, whether they're
really kind when they seem gruff, bratty when they seem innocent, or anything
in between. Unfortunately for her, (Toradora spoilers)
.
Age: 16
Supporting Cast: Survivor Jane "Calamity Jane" Maxwell,
Wild Arms

Scavenger and treasure hunter. On the outside, she seems selfish and greedy as
a result of these endeavors, but in reality, she uses them as a means of
supporting the kids at her family's orphanage. ((I'd have to change that to
something like "to support the kids in her gang" or somesuch, but I
think that'd be fairly easy.))
Age: 14
This slate was disqualified due to violating several of the rules, but itfs Ben, and the old-schoolery made me smile. Plus, more people should be exposed to KOR.
All characters from Kimagure Orange Road
Hikaru: Desperately in Love Pilot
Madoka: Seasoned Veteran Pilot
Kyosuke: Tempestuous Anchor
Kurumi and Manami: Support. I think they're probably morale officers. They
organize parties and shit.
Yes, that's five characters. Sue me.
Also, technically, Kyosuke, Kurumi, and Manami have secret psychic powers.
These have no effect on anything at all, though.
